1. Information we collect

We collect information needed to provide mandal management, EMI tracking, notifications, and account services.

• Account and profile data: name, mobile number, email address (if provided), address (if provided), and password (stored in hashed/encrypted form on our servers; we do not store your password in plain text).
• Mandal and transaction data you enter: mandal details, member details, EMI cycles, contributions, loans, repayments, penalties, balances, notes, and related records.
• Location data: approximate or precise location may be collected in the background when creating an account or when required to complete a feature (for example, latitude and longitude). We do not show location fields to users unnecessarily.
• Device and app data: device model, OS version, app version, device identifiers needed for security and push delivery, IP address, and diagnostic logs.
• Push notification token (FCM): used to send service notifications about mandal updates.
• Usage and analytics data: app events such as login, mandal creation, and key feature usage, collected through analytics tools to improve the product.
• Crash and performance data: crash reports and technical diagnostics to fix bugs and improve stability.
• Communications: support requests and messages you send to us (including via email or WhatsApp).
• Biometric data: if you enable biometric unlock, authentication is handled by your device's system. We do not receive or store your fingerprint or face data on our servers; we only store your preference that biometric unlock is enabled.
• Payments: Real Mandal does not process card, UPI, or wallet payments inside the app for mandal contributions or loans. Any plan purchase or off-app payment is handled outside the app (for example WhatsApp / external channels). We do not store full card or UPI credentials on our servers.

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your Real Mandal account and mandal workspaces.
• To authenticate you (mobile, password, OTP, and optional biometric unlock).
• To provide mandal features: members, EMI, contributions, loans, history, and summaries.
• To send OTPs, WhatsApp/SMS messages, and push notifications related to the service.
• To improve security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and analyze product usage.
• To respond to support requests and comply with applicable laws.
• To send product updates or marketing messages only where you have opted in or where permitted by law.

3. When we share information

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share limited information with trusted service providers who help us operate the platform, such as cloud hosting and infrastructure; SMS / WhatsApp / messaging delivery; push notifications (for example Firebase Cloud Messaging); analytics and crash reporting (for example Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics); and email or support tools.

These partners process data only to provide services to us and are required to protect it.

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of our users and platform.

Other mandal members or owners may see information you enter into a shared mandal (for example member names and contribution status), as needed for that mandal's operation.

4. Data safety summary (for transparency)

• Data we collect may include: personal info (name, phone, email, address), financial/account records you enter for mandal accounting, location (when collected), device identifiers, app activity, and diagnostics.
• Data is used for app functionality, account management, analytics, fraud prevention/security, and communications.
• Some data is processed by service providers listed above (shared for service operation).
• Data in transit is protected using encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
• You can request account-related access, correction, or deletion as described below and on our Delete Account page.

5. Data retention

We retain account and mandal records for as long as your account remains active, or as needed to provide services, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. You may request deletion subject to applicable retention requirements.

If your account remains inactive (you are not using the service / your session is inactive), we may deactivate access. Deactivation is not the same as permanent deletion.

For permanent deletion, follow the email process on our Delete Account page. We aim to complete verified deletion requests within 90 days, except where the law requires retention.

6. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, hashed passwords, and secure cloud infrastructure. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we work continuously to protect your information.

We do not claim an independent security review or third-party audit badge on this website unless such a review has been completed and we expressly state it.

7. Your rights and choices

• Request access, correction, or deletion of personal data where applicable.
• Opt out of non-essential marketing communications.
• Manage notification and biometric preferences in the app or by contacting support.
• Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based, subject to legal or contractual limits.
• Partial deletion of only selected data fields is not offered at this time — deletion requests apply to the account and associated personal data as a whole, subject to legal retention.

8. Children's privacy

Real Mandal is intended for adults managing savings groups and mandals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 without appropriate authorization.

9. Changes to this policy

We may change this Privacy Policy at any time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.

The updated policy applies from the date it is posted (or from any later effective date we specify). Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the updated policy.
